Exceptional Laptop

The laptop is amazing, everything you want it to do, it does. Runs 250+ fps on fortnite performance mode, 300+ fps on valorant, and extremely smooth on many other games. My one problem is the keyboard rgb. It doesnt usually come like this for other purchases, but some keys light up the wrong colors at the wrong times, making what should be satisfying, look kind of clunky, but in the end, it's beautiful enough either way, especially with all the customizations.

Portable Power

So far meeting all my needs including playing Starfield, which was the reason I upgraded (needed more RAM and a newer graphics card). Other than gaming, I just use it for web surfing and light productivity.

Aesthetically, it's pleasant to look at and doesn't scream GAMING RIG. Functionally, it easily opens with one finger and offers quite a bit of screen real estate. Lighter than the ASUS it replaced. No complaints so far.

Fast and reliable

Fantastic quality, slim design, and full of features. This laptop offers a very nice balance of portability and power. It is power efficient if it needs to be, and a power house when you need the performance. There are no obnoxious logos or light strips that make the laptop feel tacky. This laptop is slim, minimalistic, and looks professional. Keyboard feels fantastic, screen is nice in both size and quality.

Great laptop for power and portability.

Ordered up a Slim7i on black friday to replace and aging Asus ROG Tuf 17. I'm much happier with my slim than I ever was with my ROG. I'm a many browsing tabs business user who games a bit in my down time. This slim checks all the boxes and it does so with style and class. Sleek form factor, the aluminum housing cant be beat and I'm not looked at funny for carrying it into a meeting. Only modification I made on my end was going from the factory 16gb ram my model had to 64gb.

Powerhouse with great fit and finish

A surprisingly good gaming laptop. Nowadays it's hard to choose the right laptop for oneself, especially with the amount of other laptops. But I don't regret buying this brand and model. I also like the style of it, not over the top, just right. I am so glad that I decided to buy it.

Legion excellence

Built quality is top notch. Performance is very good. Sharp screen at 2.5K /240Hz. Speaker is pretty good. However the intel version has bad battery life. With 99.9Wh battery it lasts only 5-6 hours of office usage or Youtube watching. I have an AMD version Slim 7 that lasts 7-8 hours in the same scenario.

A Month with the Legion Slim 7i Gen 8 Intel Laptop

I have a self-built gaming PC and wanted something for gaming in bed or on the couch that would not be a significant dropoff in quality, playable games, and not be a bonfire on my lap. This has met all those expectations. I got the armored backpack and a targus laptop cooler which fits in altogether with the charger, mouse, and some xbox controllers for a well-protected, gaming/video streaming on the go package. I really like the lighting in the keyboard. The screen quality is fantastic. I play everything from Rimworld, Solasta, FS22, Arma3, Witcher3, etc... and all on highest or next to highest settings. Only issue I've seen is you need to use the built in app for choosing which GPU is running and when, sometimes it wants to use the iGPU and you're better off just telling it to always use only the discrete GPU when plugged in. I got the 16gb RAM version and bought a crucial chip that went in very easily, just follow a youtube vid (part, CT16G52C42S5) and I installed a 2TB Samsung ssd into the extra slot. Just be careful taking the included little offset screw out, mine was in tight, make sure you have the right size screwdriver and don't put too much downward pressure on. With the extra 2TB I can install pretty much my entire steam library and not have to pick and choose what I have available.

Very Satisfied with a high-end gaming laptop

Things to love: the beautiful, bright, 240hz screen; the super-convenient Windows Hello fingerprint scanner in the power button; the full keyboard with customizable RGB lighting; the powerful yet affordable RTX 4060 graphics card; the simplicity of switching performance modes.

Frustrations: the RGB settings get reset with updates; the automatic iGPU/dGPU switching conflicts with many applications, so I've had to set it to dGPU mode only, which is less power efficient and spoils a great feature.

Excellent Work & Gaming Laptop Overall

This laptop has a great screen, with not too much backlight bleed, great brightness for the type of screen it is, and the 240 hz refresh rate is a serious plus. The build quality is very solid. The design is sleek and mature. I'm not a big fan of super gamery designs. I've had a great time with it so far.

Slim, Sleek, Solid, & Speedy

Pros:

- Good Screen

- Good solid chassis

- Great power for it's size and weight

- Wonderful keyboard

- Fans, while loud at max speeds, do not have any annoying whine and are not disruptive

- Plenty of ports

- The per key RGB sparks joy

Cons:

- My unit came with minor manufacturing defect; the 'y' and 'u' keys on the keyboard are permanently depressed relative to the other keys (although still fully functional)

- While running inconsistent loads such as gaming, the keyboards gets a little too hot to the touch for my liking because the fans speeds lag behind the load on the CPU. This is not an issue when in the custom performance mode where fans are at max all the time. Given the fan noise, I think Lenovo could have been more aggressive with the fan curves to prevent this.

I got this laptop for a combination of data analysis and gaming and it does not disappoint. The CPU in wonderfully fast for the work I do and the keyboard is a joy to work on. Outside of the small defect and heating issue noted above I have zero complaints. Overall I recommend this laptop to folks who need a larger screen size and plenty of power in a (relatively) light package.
