Boots up immediately and is very user friendly - The touch screen is a fantastic add and very easy to use. Battery life is great as well.

Great Laptop

Great laptop, very fast startup. This is a great laptop for browsing the internet and doing every day tasks like viewing emails. Downside is the hard drive capacity you can go with a higher HD capacity. Battery life is pretty decent! Fast charge too!

Good value laptop

Purchased for my daughter heading to college. Wanted something powerful that would last all through. So far this has not disappointed. Plenty of speed and battery life is excellent.

Great computer for students!

Purchased this device because mine crashed right before I had to start working remotely. It is a light device, easy to transport. Keyboard is very smooth to type and the "carpet-like" material makes it comfortable for the hands.

I love how slim this laptop is. Not too big and not too small just perfect. The display is clear and has great resolution. The keyboard is super smooth and track pad is very responsive. Not a single lag in processing the software, commands, and internet pages. like how the sound quality of the laptop exceeds expectations. This was definitely worth the price!!! I'd recommend this to everyone!

Super worth it!

Great design, clear bright screen, solid feel yet lightweight. Decent battery life, enough for a full days work.

All I can say is wow. After using the intel version of the Surface Laptop 3 for a week I am still very impressed. Its nice to be able to poke fun at mac users with NO touchscreen.
Hidden speakers under the keyboard sound really good and there are no ugly grills or ports to hurt the appearance. The laprop is really premium.
The screen looks superb. Colors are accurate and vibrant. It is plenty bright in all situations I have encountered. Opening that lid with one finger is just hreat for bragging rights.
The keyboard does have a ever so slight give in the middle on the Alcantara model, but it doesnt hinder typing in any way.
Battery lasts all day for me. About 8 hours of SOT easily. I like that it can charge by usb-c, I have those everywhere so I leave the Surface charger at home.
All in all, well done Microsoft, well done.

Laptop

This laptop is a great everyday laptop. The keyboard and track pad are very nice nice to use. Surfing the web is fast. Display is crisp. However, this laptop cannot run any games nor can it run large applications in a timely manner.

Nice and easy for simple computing

Overall a nice laptop, here are my frustrations:
* Much more pink than expected (I get a lot of comments on this as a guy). I don't really care but you might.
* Having issues with speeds for Wifi despite Wifi-6 connecting to Linksys MX10 Velop and previously the Netgear Nighthawk series.
* Power cord is not flexible, so despite being magnetic, it is a pain to connect.
* Doesn't have as much horsepower as I'd expect for a new machine.
* Power button is awkward. I don't know how many times I've accidentally hit it instead of del/backspace
* Has trouble delivering enough power to an external secondary portable monitor connecting over the newer connection port.
* Constantly is losing my bluetooth devices. Says I don't have bluetooth randomly, then I lose my mouse. I have to reboot to correct.
* Has problems with Dolby Atmos.

Great battery life, sleek, great keyboard.

Happy Purchase

I just got a Surface Laptop 3. Here are my thoughts:

Display: I really like it. I don’t really get why it’s a touch screen. It’s not a 2 in 1 and It’s a little awkward to use it as a touch screen. I like the aspect ratio and resolution. I wish it got a little brighter, but its a good, inoffensive display.

Keyboard: Its the best laptop keyboard in a laptop. Period. Better than Apple's new magic keyboard.

Build: Mine is all aluminum without the alcantara. Build is top notch for a Windows laptop. Matt Black looks great, but is a finger print magnet. Mine creeks a little when you hold it certain ways. Apple still has it beat in fit and finish.

Trackpad: It’s great, once you get used to it. The top doesn't really click, the center and lower have a satisfying "click" and the bottom right registers as a right click. It’s really nice feeling and it’s nice to have a dedicated right click. Apple's track pad is still a little better feeling, but I think the Surface has better functionality. I would like it if it were a little bigger.

Battery: Average at Best. I have been doing my work training on it and the battery seems to drain a little quicker than it would on my MacBook. but I feel like I could make it through the day if I lowered the brightness.

Performance: My model is the base processor i5 1035 and G7 graphics with 8GB of ram. I would have preferred to get 16GB of ram, but Microsoft made 16GB only available with the i7 and I Just didn’t want to spend $1600. I plan on using this laptop to finish my degree, which will be your standard mix of writing and video conferencing. I will need to use virtual machines for some of my classes, but I have a desktop if I really did need more power.

Biometrics: Windows hello is pretty awesome. It’s crazy fast to the point where you don’t really see the lock screen. I’m a big fan of face unlock and this is just better than fingerprint scanners.

Final thoughts: I think Microosft really nailed the ultrabook. It’s a really lightweight, well designed machine with decent port selection, a good screen, great keyboard and trackpad with better specs than the base 2020 MacBook Pro, which is obviously the Surface Laptop 3’s main competitor. If you don’t need MacOS and don’t care about the Apple ecosystem, this is the Windows thin and lite to get .

For a smaller sized laptop, this thing does a great job! The camera is super clear. The startup / bootup times are phenomenal. The overall screen is clear. Web browsing and YouTube videos are fast and clear.

Only small thing I ran into is the fan was quite loud when plugged in and used for a 1hr WebEx meeting. The laptop was quite warm as well. Looking at forums, I plan to turn town my performance levels for battery to prevent the CPU from going into overload, which may be causing the fan to work overtime.

Overall, I really love this Laptop as it's compact and gets everyday task done effeciently!

I am by no means a computer expert. I asked someone in my IT department on what specs I should look for in a personal computer and started my search from there. This laptop caught my eye from the beginning with how portable and sleek it appeared. Once I saw that it met all the specs I was looking for it was a no brainer to purchase. This is my first personal computer and I have yet to be disappointed. It’s quick, customizable, and smart. Very user friendly for any project you encounter. The screen has perfect resolution. Basically the overall value is unbeatable. I compared prices to other top brands and would have had to pay an extra $1000 for a label.

After some disaster quality control experiences with 4 other major laptop brands. I finally switched to the surface laptop.
A few highlights:
1. Most importantly at least for my own experience: Quality Control. I am tired of getting new devices with QC issues but the surface laptop I received is perfect.
2. Nice screen color and resolution.
3. Excellent build quality.
4. One of the best keyboard and touchpad combination on the market.

A few compromises:
1. Screen is too glossy to use in a sunny day even for in door use.
2. Power connector is awkward. Although it's magnetic, it's still too loose.
3. Too few ports. Only 1 usb-a + 1 usb-c. Even 1 more usb-c would make it a much more versatile device. It would be even better if it has a sd-card reader.
